I am new to Taos but not NM. Trained as a geologist, I've applied that over 30+ years to water- resource & environmental problems in NM, Australia & Nevada. Semi-retired now, I currently teach water courses at UNM/Taos. Experience in NM includes positions at Tech, the Environment Dept. and LANL. HYDROTHINK, my regular column in The Professional Geologist presents a humorous but instructive look at goofs I've witnessed in the hydrology/environmental fields. As the author of Hydrogeology in Practice -- a Guide to Characterizing Ground-Water Systems (1999, Prentice Hall), I'm deeply concerned about water issues. My illustrated talk, WATER MAKES THE PLACE, would make an interesting addition to your lecture series.
